What is Pai Gow Poker?
Discovered by Sam Torosian in 1985, Pai Gow Poker is a table game played in casinos that puts players against a dealer. Unlike the original Pai Gow, Pai Gow Poker uses a standard deck of cards (plus a joker) instead of the domino and uses the poker portions instead of a domino points system.
How to play Pai Gow Poker
Each round of Pai Gow Poker starts with an effort. In our online version you can bet between $ 1 and $ 500 per round. After placing your bet on the table, you get seven face-up cards and seven face-down cards will be dealt at the bank. You have to share the seven cards in two hands; a five-card hand and a two-card hand. The five-card hand must be higher in the poker of the two-card hand.
The retailer shares the same hand. When you are ready for confrontation, the dealer’s two hands will be revealed. To win, you must have a higher five-card hand and a higher two-card hand. This results in a cash payment minus a 5% commission. If you have a stronger hand and a weaker hand, the round is a push and your bet is returned. If both of your hands are lower than the dealer, you lose your bet.
Pai Gow Poker has some bizarre rules that make the game unique compared to other poker-inspired table games. A rule to remember is that the wheel (5432A) is the second highest scale in Pai Gow Poker. The game also uses a standard game deck plus a Joker, which is an ace, but can also be used to complete straights and flushes, making it semi-wild. Due to the inclusion of the Joker, you can create Five of a Kind with Aces, which is higher than a Royal Flush.
As already mentioned, the five-card hand must have a higher poker value than the two-card hand. If you try to create a hand with two better cards, you will be asked to reorganize your hands. The house edge comes from cases where you have the same dealer’s hand (for example 7.6 for the small hand). The dealer wins these bands.
